BUXAR-----------------------A case of serious negligence by the police has come to light in the Sikraul police station area of the district, where an innocent farmer was picked up from his home in the middle of the night and kept locked up in a police cell all night due to a case of mistaken identity. He was released in the morning when the mistake was discovered, but a video of the station house officer's abusive behavior towards a constable during this time went viral on social media, further escalating the matter.

In the viral video, the station house officer is allegedly heard using foul language and reprimanding the constable. Although Buxar Online News does not officially confirm the authenticity of this video, it is being widely discussed in the area.

The victimized farmer has been identified as Ajay Kumar Singh, son of late Shyam Bihari Singh, a resident of Bhadar. According to information, a police team led by Sikraul Station House Officer Ankush Kumar Mandal allegedly entered the house late at night by climbing over the roof, based on a purported non-bailable warrant, and took him to the police station without proper verification, locking him up in a cell.

The victim says that the bank loan for which the action was taken had already been repaid, and he even had the No Objection Certificate (NOC), but his pleas were ignored. When his family members reached the police station in the morning, they were advised to seek information from the court. At the court, it was discovered that the warrant was issued in the name of another Ajay Kumar Singh from Bhadar, exposing a major lapse on the part of the police.

Following the revelation of the incident, villagers held a meeting at the police station premises. It is alleged that instead of admitting his mistake, the station house officer shifted the entire blame onto the constable. The video of this conversation going viral has brought disrepute to the police department.

Upon learning of the incident, Dumraon MLA Rahul Singh took a strong stance. He said that picking up an innocent farmer at night without a warrant and locking him up in a cell is extremely shameful. He will demand that the government take action against the negligent and guilty police officers in this matter. Farmer Ajay Kumar Singh said that this incident has severely damaged his social reputation. He has demanded strict action against the station house officer from the Superintendent of Police. He was released on Tuesday morning at around 11:50 AM.

Regarding this matter, Dumraon SDPO Polast Kumar said that the entire incident is being investigated and action will be taken according to the rules if anyone is found guilty.
